We do a lot of work with schools and nonprofits, so we have decided to pitch in and design a “Non Profit of the Month” program. Every month Met Risk selects a non-profit organization to write about, promote, and donate to. This month we have selected the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of a dear friend Reza D who recently passed from complications due to Cystic Fibrosis. Last month Met Risk sponsored a lacrosse team that raised money for Multiple Sclerosis.
For the next month, for every Facebook “like” we receive we will donate $1. You probably like pages and statuses all the time, but how often can you do so and be proud that you did a good deed? Already like our page? You can still help by sharing and spreading awareness.
“Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that:
- Clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections; and
- Obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.
In the 1950s, few children with cystic fibrosis lived to attend elementary school. Today, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended life for children and adults with CF. Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30s, 40s and beyond.”
Please visit their website to read more about the cause and take two seconds to like our page and donate $1 or more to a great cause.
Thank you for your time.
