NY Safe Patient Handling Credit.
The NY State Budget established by January 1st, 2017, health care facilities are to establish safe patient handling programs. The NY State Department of Financial Services is to issue regulations that allow facilities that implement these programs to lower their NY Workers Compensation insurance premiums. Companies who develop, implement, and maintain safe patient handling programs may receive up to a 2.5% NY workers compensation safe patient handling credit, specified by Regulation 119 from the Department of Financial Services.
